In an era marked by rising demands for online child safety, privacy-preserving age verification has emerged as a critical challenge for organizations. Governments in the UK, various U.S. states, Canada, and the EU are rolling out, or proposing, laws that require platforms, from adult sites to gaming and social platforms, to confirm users’ ages before granting access to their content. In the UK specifically, since 25 July 2025, platforms must deploy "highly effective" age assurance mechanisms under the drop-off rates.
